Mamun is an Assistant psychologist, researcher, and mental health practitioner with a strong commitment to community-based mental health systems in Bangladesh and beyond. He earned his M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Dhaka, where he demonstrated strong academic and professional competence. His academic and professional work has consistently focused on understanding mental health challenges, particularly performance anxiety among athletes, coping strategies, and barriers to mental health service utilization in Bangladesh. He is currently working on psychological well-being and performance-related mental health issues among athletes, with a particular focus on High Performance cricketers and Athletes. In this capacity, he works closely with different cricket clubs and athletes to understand the psychological factors influencing performance and overall well-being. His responsibilities include conducting psychological assessments, facilitating mental health awareness sessions, developing intervention strategies, and providing individual and group counseling support. Mamun has significant experience in mental health practice and psychosocial support initiatives. He has worked with individuals experiencing anxiety, stress, emotional difficulties, and performance-related concerns, with a special emphasis on athlete mental health and psychological resilience. He is also actively engaged in research activities with a particular focus on performance anxiety among cricket players from different clubs. His research interests include athlete mental health, anxiety and stress management, coping mechanisms, psychological resilience, and community mental health. He has participated in academic discussions and knowledge-sharing initiatives related to mental health promotion and psychological well-being. As a mental health practitioner and researcher, Mamun contributes clinical knowledge, research expertise, and practical experience in promoting evidence-based mental health support and strengthening psychological well-being among athletes and communities. As a Managing Partner of Nirban, he plays a strategic role in shaping organizational vision, operational structure, and service development. He brings expertise in performance psychology, professional growth, and structured interventions to support both individuals and teams.
Al Mamun holds a B.S. in Psychology and an M.S. in Industrial and Organizational Psychology from the University of Dhaka. He focuses on workplace behavior and team performance and currently serves as a Managing Partner at Nirban.
